After two weeks off, it sure felt great to return to tournament play. On top of that it was in Canada and in front of all of our friends and family. You couldn't ask for much more than that! (Except for maybe a high seed and center court exposure throughout the event. Oh yeah, we got that too!)

Although we didn't break through with the podium result we were shooting for, we did manage to grab 9th spot, which was a reasonable effort considering the time off and considering the fact that I was returning from injury and managing the calf problem throughout the event. By the way, the calf held out well, and although it is a bit achy from all the jumping (I got served practically every ball!), it has responded well and is feeling good as we prepare for a 6-week tour in Europe.
